Tanner joined the firm in 2010 while still in law school. He has since gone from law clerk, to associate, and now partner. In that time he has helped thousands of clients and their families affected by personal injuries. He tried his first jury trial within three months of becoming a licensed attorney and has never looked back, consistently trying multiple jury trials each year – some with success and some without. He knows he can never guarantee a result at the trial level, but he can guarantee effective and honest representation and advice throughout the course of each case.
He has represented clients in car, trucking, ATV, boating and bicycle accidents, slip and falls, dog attacks, assaults, invasion of privacy, wrongful deaths, nursing home abuse and neglect and various insurance coverage disputes. His knowledge of the law outside the world of personal injury is just enough to be dangerous – but you can still ask. He’s very knowledgeable on the law surrounding personal injury – so you should ask. He’s lectured at seminars for insurance professionals and other attorneys since 2011 on a wide variety of legal topics.
Tanner grew up in northwest Minnesota where he graduated high school with about 100 kids. While attending North Dakota State, he studied criminal justice and clerked at the Cass County State Attorney’s Office in Fargo, ND. He also met his wife, Kelsey, who has kept him in line ever since. She stuck with him through law school at William Mitchell (now Mitchell Hamline) where he was a part of the AAJ trial team that made it to the national competition. Having four young children, he spends most of his “free time” at home, where he’s currently ranked sixth in command, as only the dog listens to him at this point. If he has any hobbies, they are golfing and exercising. He also camps, takes the kids to Buck Hill in the winter, drinks beer as often as possible, breaks down Amazon and Target delivery boxes, and attempts to hold onto his youth by competing in rec soccer (McFarg F.C.).
